Groundtel Ltd is one of the leading companies in the area specialising in the maintenance of school grounds servicing in excess of 120 plus schools across the region.
One of our main strengths is our ability to work closely with our clients to ensure a regular programme of maintenance is matched to available budgets. We have formed partnerships with many of our schools over the years taking an active role in helping them to improve the external presentation of their sites in a manner that inspires confidence in the school as an attractive and safe place for all of the children and staff to work.
Investing in the latest machinery on offer allows us to provide the best results to the highest of standards with minimum noise and disruption. The introduction of battery-operated machinery adds further to our commitment to ensure reducing noise pollution whilst considering our environment.
While achieving the specified service we always aim to minimise disruption caused by site visits and we are particularly conscious of our responsibilities under Health and Safety Legislation.
Our staff have a full and complete understanding of the constraints of operating and maintaining high standards of all sites and always develop good working relationships with site staff and management.
We provide annually to all clients our Health & Safety Policy, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Safety Data, COSHH Assessment, Safeguarding Policy, Letter of Assurance, DBS Vetting Statement for all employees and Insurance Documents.
All employees of Groundtel Ltd have successfully completed a disclosure for the Criminal Records Bureau (DBS) and received the required documentation. Branded uniforms are supplied along with photographic identity cards which are worn by each employee. Staff have received Health & Safety Induction Training and attend Safety Training with our Health & Safety Advisor on a regular basis and have completed First Aid Courses which are renewed every 3 years with refresher courses available in between.

Health and safety are of paramount importance to Groundtel Ltd and every effort is made to ensure a safe working environment for both staff and the general public.

Groundtel Ltd is registered as an accredited company within CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme), SafeContractor, SMAS worksafe and Constructionline (A UK Government Certification Service).
Groundtel Ltd is a member of BALI (The British Association of Landscape Industries) and the IOG (The Institute of Groundsmanship).
A risk assessment is carried out on all sites before the commencement of any work. Also risk assessments are carried out on all maintenance equipment and staff are fully trained in their use.
Environmental Policy
Groundtel Limited endeavour to make environmentally conscious choices across all areas of the business. We have recently invested in electric machinery to reduce our environmental impact and reduce noise pollution.
We target to improve the environment through our contract activities. We address environmental issues as an integral part of our management process, staff at all levels are required to act with care and consideration to reduce our impact on the environment, while doing the absolute minimum amount of damage during the execution of our works, and to strive for an ever improving environmental performance.
The company is founded on the principal of continuing development of both the whole and the individuals within it and this applies every bit as much to the impact on the environment as to all other aspects of the business. This is achieved through an ongoing programme of training of the individuals and a continuous raising of the level of awareness throughout the company by the updating, distribution, and implementation of the Environmental Management System.
We try to reduce waste as much as practicable and where possible, utilising by- products from our works. All waste is taken to the appropriate contractor for recycling or disposal. We optimise our transport and machinery requirements in all operations of our work to reduce environmental pollution and company operational costs.
Groundtel Ltd is licensed by the Environment Agency to transport waste.
Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS)
Due to the sensitive nature of some of our work our policy is to ensure that all members of staff are vetted in accordance with all ‘Government Acts’ designed to protect vulnerable persons (adults and children) in the community.
All employees of Groundtel Ltd have successfully completed a disclosure and barring service before commencing employment with Groundtel Ltd for the Criminal Records Bureau (DBS) and received the required documentation. This is renewed every 3no.years.
